iPhone, Google Phone, aren’t mobile phones

According to ZDNet blogger, the iPhone and the Google Android platform, actually aren't mobile telephones, but Internet clients. Internet clients use exponentially more data bandwidth than ordinary digital phones, which use thin streams of compressed data. Maybe several exponentials. Source: ZDNet

Open-source Java could result in port to iPhone

While Google might be facing the trouble with Sun Microsystems Inc., a Sun official said he believes the project could bear a sought-after fruit in the Java community: the porting of Java to Apple Inc.'s iPhone.
